3. Pigpin Cipher contest for young readers (12 and under—book prize for winner of contest awarded on 10/21). Pigpin Cipher was used by Freemasons in the 18th century to keep their records and communications private---a mystery scheme of sorts!

Kingdom Books will celebrate Mystery Week with IMBA during Oct. 13-20, with reviews on our blog (kingdombks.blogspot.com) each day that focus on S. J. Rozan's books and those of other Dilys-awarded authors. Tour week will climax on Saturday Oct. 20 with an author event at 2 pm with Vermont author Archer Mayor (and his new book PARADISE CITY), at which time there will be a drawing for two books: one of Archer's, and one by S. J. Rozan. If you're coming to Vermont, please let us know so we can save you a seat!

Murder on the Beach:
A display of SJ Rozan's books on the front counter next to the register, along with a bowl of fortune cookies next to the display for customers to help themselves and a raffle bowl for entries to win the signed copy of Ghost Hero.

On Sunday October 21 at 3 pm our Sunday Sleuths book group will meet to discuss Ghost Hero. Assorted Chinese appetizers will be served and all customers are invited to the party.  The winners will name will be drawn at the end of this event.

Seattle Mystery Bookshop:
We're celebrating Dilys' 20th anniversary by giving away signed trade paperbacks of the latest winner, S.J. Rozan’s Ghost Hero.
How do you enter to win one of the two copies we have? You can’t – you have to come in and look for them because we’ve hidden them somewhere in the shop. They’re in plain sight (they’re not tucked under the award-winner display or secreted up in the ceiling tiles, they’re not in some dark corner – if you are looking right at them you’ll see them.

Call it a test of your investigative skills. Both of these copies have a special sticker on the back so that all know which are the copies that were hidden and, no, the copy that is on the shelf with her other books is NOT the one. Yesh, give us some credit!

The celebration is the week of Oct 13th – 21st. When we open Sat the 13th, they’ll both be somewhere visible in the public area of the shop (no, not in Fran’s desk!). We’ll have lists of the nominees and winners for you to peruse or carry around with you as you search and hope you’ll look them over and maybe find something and someone new to read.
